Collision Centers of Texas® opened its doors in January 1987 and has been serving the greater Houston community with a sense of pride and excellence ever since. With the goal of creating a shop that produced the BEST QUALITY PAINT AND BODYWORK in Houston, Wayne Thornton began to lay the foundation of its success by purchasing the latest equipment and technology in auto body repair. Collision Centers of Texas® was one of the very first shops to purchase a heated downdraft paint booth and became on of the first shops to do alignment work in house upon purchasing its computerized Hunter alignment machine. Its state-of-the-art computer laser measuring system can get the unibody and frame dimensions on your car back to their original factory specifications. And isn’t that important when you realize the investment you’ve made in your vehicle and how you want to maintain its value by having structural repairs done right? What To Look For In A Repair Shop?

What To Look For In A Repair Shop?

Mar 19, 2014

This is a common question I see asked online, and it is probably on your mind as well if you are looking to get some work done on your car. With car repair shops on every corner, It can be pretty mind-boggling trying to find a great shop that you’ll love for years to come. Luckily, we have compiled a list of things you should look for in your mechanic shop. 1. History Look to see how long your car shop has been in business for, since this will quickly tell you how long your company expects to be around for in the future, and will also tell you about the dependability and experience of the shop. 2. Value vs. Price Although price is a huge factor, your car safety is not really something you should try to cut corners on. Focus on the value of what the shop is trying to offer you, not necessarily the price. Remember, in the mechanic world many times you get what you pay for, and if it is too good to be true, it may merit a second opinion. 3. Social Media. Social media is a good representation of a company’s community involvement. Look to see if your company has twitter, yelp, or facebook accounts – which can give you a good perspective of what people think of that specific shop. Take a good look at the company website which should tell you about the company beliefs and focus. 4. Professionality How a shop is maintained is a good reflection on how this shop will focus on your shop’s attention to detail and professionalism. Of course, the shop may not be spotless, but it shouldn’t be messy or unorganized. 5. Shop Capabilities Many shops only focus on specific makes and models of vehicles. Try to find a shop with a good range of capabilities so that no angles are missed when working on your vehicle. Hopefully this list gives you a jumpstart on what to look for in your next mechanic shop. Collision Centers of Texas® have been in business for nearly 3 decades and would be happy to answer any of your questions at...
